How to Have the Perfect Christmas Date Night at Home

Dec 04, 2020 · 5 min read

On the hunt for some suuuper cute date night ideas?

We’ve got you covered, girls. What’s even better is that it’s officially the festive season, so a Christmas date is totally acceptable.

We’re not talking about the standard Netflix marathon either, oh no. A Christmas date night should be extra special, and considering we’ll all be spending a lot of time at home for the foreseeable, it gives us an even bigger excuse to be that little more OTT (like we ever needed an excuse).

Discover our list of date night ideas for a Christmas date to remember.

1. Go for a Romantic Evening Walk

If you love to wander in nature and look at all the bright Christmas lights, this Christmas date idea might just be the one for you. A lot of takeaways and coffee shops are still open, so why not grab a coffee and go? Or even better, a hot chocolate, perhaps? (With cream and marshmallows, obviously!) Plus, going for a walk with your nearest and dearest is a great way to get moving if you’ve been hibernating for a while. Don’t forget to wrap up - it will be cold, that's for sure and think of how much cosier Lounging will be when you get home.

Why not browse through our Apparel Collection so you can snuggle up when you get home?

2. Have a Christmas Bake Off

No soggy bottoms, please!

If you’re hoping for a date night at home that’s super creative, why not get your baking socks on with your other half? Challenge your partner to a baking competition - the best bake wins! You can even get your friends involved by sharing the finished products on the group chat. Plus, you’ll have loads of cake to eat after. We’re not complaining.

3. Build a Blanket Fort

Who said blanket forts are just for kids? Adults can have fun too!

For a cheesy but cosy Christmas date, build a blanket fort and decorate it with fairy lights, cushions and even more blankets. Get your favourite snacks in and watch a movie together. We’ve even got some more cosy night ideas here too.

4. Stay at Home Spa

Who doesn’t love a good pamper?

This is the perfect go to if you want a date night at home that’s full of laughs, Christmas spirit and TLC. There’s loads of face mask recipes online that you can try out with some basic ingredients and we have some right here for you to try. Go on, you know you want to.

5. Have a Game of Christmas Charades

For a Christmas date night that’s a bit more fun and giggly, why not opt for a classic game of Charades - Christmas style? Add a twist to the classic word guessing game by getting your other half to guess the name of a Christmas movie or a Christmas song. The loser has to cook Christmas dinner! Sounds fair.

Get your favourite festive candles lit and relax. Christmas perfection.

6. Cheese and Wine Night

Christmas is the perfect excuse to indulge in cheese, cheese and more cheese. Nothing says a date night at home like a cheese and wine night. Whether you’re a camembert kind of girl or prefer your rosé to your red, there’s never been a better reason to indulge this Christmas. Umm, and it’s the perfect insta-opportunity!

We’ve all seen those glorious charcuterie board pics. Who knew cheese could be so glamorous?

7. Make your Own Pizzas

Everyone loves pizza. That’s just a fact.

For a Christmas date night idea, make your own pizzas from scratch (that includes the base too!) Maybe try experimenting with different flavours and toppings for that extra Christmassy touch, like adding stuffing, pigs in blankets or speckles of cranberry on top. Festive and fabulous.

8. Create your Own DIY Photobooth

Squeezing into a photo booth might be a
little unrealistic right now, so why not create your own at home? Print off your own props and throw on some Christmas garms (paired with your fave Lounge setof course) to give your pictures some Christmas spirit. You can even use these photos to create some homemade Christmas cards to send to your loved ones. A quirky but festive Christmas date night idea.

9. At Home Karaoke

Michael Buble is defrosting as we speak. No lie.

Get your favourite Christmas playlist on and sing your hearts out in your living room. From cheesy ballads to festive favourites, this is what you call a Christmas date made fun. No microphone? No problem. Hairbrushes and remote controls at the ready!

10. Watch a Christmas Concert at Home

The internet is a wonderful place, girls.

You might not be able to make it to a Christmas concert this year, but you can always watch one in the comfort of your own home. A lot of concerts and award shows have gone virtual this year, so the world is pretty much your oyster. Get a glass of mulled wine on the go, snuggle up with your other half and feel like you’re right there!

Now you have bundles of Christmas date ideas to choose from, we’re sure you’ll be getting into the festive spirit in no time. Just because you can’t leave the house, it doesn’t mean that you can’t have the perfect date night at home this Christmas.

Pst…we even have a list of all the date night underwear you need right here. Yes, hereDon't forget to check out our Christmas Gift Guide too for all the festive fancies you need this year.
