How to be Body Confident this Christmas

Dec 10, 2020 · 4 min read

It’s nearly Christmas! Who doesn’t love hundreds of fairy lights, excessive amounts of sparkle and time off work? (if you’re lucky). We know we do!

Christmas is also a time where we get the perfect excuse to eat as much as we like without having to justify ourselves to
anyone. So, why should we start now?

For some of us, Christmas can fill us up with so much body anxiety that it can quite literally eat us up. So, let’s push the post-Christmas diets to the side for a minute, girls. We’re here to show you how to be body confident this Christmas and the exact pieces you need in your underwear drawer to have you feeling yourself throughout the entire festive season.

1. Stop Apologising for ‘Treating Yourself’

Good food is good food. There’s no in between. Let’s stop giving food a morale and labelling it as ‘good’ or ‘bad’ to justify whether it’s acceptable. Christmas is a time where you should be enjoying yourself with your Female Family, not calorie counting, girls. Eat, drink and be merry!

2. Make Sure you're Following Positive Accounts

Envision your Instagram feed as a party, ladies. Social media is the one place where you get to see what the rest of the world is getting up to, so make sure it’s full of positivity and inspiration this Christmas. Fill your feed with body positive influencers and words of wisdom to enhance your own body confidence, not accounts who are promoting the latest ‘tummy teas’.

3. Create a Self Love Advent Calendar

Write yourself a list of 25 numbered compliments and each day, focus on the one that’s noted for that day. This is a great way to be kind to yourself over the Christmas period and ditch the body anxiety. Reminder: you are beautiful, confident and amazing just the way you are. We've even got some self-care ideas right here.

4. Ditch the Scales

We’ve all done it…

That continuous cycle of checking your weight after Christmas is done and dusted and isn’t particularly healthy...real talk. Don’t label yourself as just a number now, girls. You are more than your body and never apologise for that. The first step to building body confidence is self care and stopping the pre-Christmas diets. Step away from the low-cal shakes.

5. Give the Gift of Giving

And by that, we mean treat yourself, of course! If you see any spa offers for you and your bestie, don’t hesitate to book them! Also, it’s no secret that women love getting new underwear over the Christmas period, so why not treat yourself to something special, Lounge style? Our Intimates are perfect if you want something flattering and luxurious to power up your underwear drawer this season and take your body confidence to the next level.

We've also recently launched our Embroidered Triangle, Charmed Balcony and Christmas Intimates and we'll be honest, they're totally gorgeous. How can you possibly say no to these?

6. Focus on Capturing the Christmas Spirit

Yes, a killer selfie is all well and good, but instead of worrying about what angles suit you best, let’s focus on capturing the Christmas spirit with our loved ones. This year will be different for so many of us as we won’t be able to spend Christmas with the people we’re used to spending it with, so let’s focus on what truly matters. Don’t edit those goofy smiles, that silly outfit or the amount of food involved. It’s all part of what makes these Christmas moments so magical.

Remember, girls: you have the right to eat what you want, wear what you want and love your body exactly how it is. Be kind to yourself this Christmas, girls and don’t let body anxiety win!

So, now you know how to embrace all of that body confidence, go ahead and eat that giant bowl of roast potatoes, opt for extra cranberry sauce on your turkey and drink as much mulled wine as you like.

Cheers to that.
