Apr 19, 2021 · 10 min read

Are you ready to blossom and bloom this spring?

If so, we have all the spring skincare tips you need to strut your way out of lockdown simply glowing. Whether you want to glow up for your Tinder match with a spring date or simply want to look and feel amazing, we've got you covered.

The cold winter months have been harsh on everybody’s skin, but with the right spring skincare routine, you’ll be pumped and ready for spring and the summer months ahead in no time.

Say goodbye to dry skin and impurities and hello to a new you. You’ll be Lounging and glowing sooner than you think. Read our top tips on building the perfect spring skincare routine below.

1. Give your skincare drawer a spring clean

It’s time you binned those old toners, half-empty pots of moisturisers and out of date face masks and make way for some brand new goodies for your skin to indulge in. The last thing you want is to be putting out of date products on your skin or using products which have collected dust over the lockdown months. That’s something your skin definitely won’t thank you for. Make sure your skincare essentials are fresh and within date!

2. Invest in some new spring skincare essentials

And by essentials, we mean your trusty trio of basics: a cleanser, toner and a moisturiser. They’re basically bible in the skincare world.

It’s always best to keep your cleanser relatively simple and leave the targeted treatments to lotions and gels. For a toner, use something water based like micellar water. The same goes for moisturiser - use a moisturiser which is water based or one which contains Hyaluronic Acid for a light, weightless feel. This will keep your skin feeling fresh, hydrated and plump for the spring days ahead.

3. Wear SPF basically all the time

You’ve probably heard it a million times, we know, but wearing SPF is
super important. Why? Because it protects your skin from harmful UV rays and can help prevent premature ageing caused by the sun such as wrinkles, sagging and age spots. According to skincancer.org, wearing SPF can also help lower your risk of developing squamous cell carcinoma by 40% and lower your risk of melanoma by about 50%. Basically, girls, SPF is your best friend.

4. Buff away winter skin

Ready, set, glow! It’s time you said goodbye to those winter blues and get your skin looking its best. As a spring skincare tip, buff away dry, flakey skin and dead cells with a gentle exfoliator or exfoliating mitt. Follow with a gentle moisturiser to lock in that extra moisture. Spring skin here we come.

5. Treat moisturiser like your best friend

Trust us when we say that your skin will thank you for it. Spring skincare is important, especially with temperatures rising, so make sure your skin stays looking and feeling hydrated with the right moisturiser. Your skin’s oil production naturally rises during the warmer months, so try a lightweight moisturiser that won’t clog your pores and overload your spring skin with excess oil.
