Jul 20, 2020

Ahhh.. summer.

The windows are open, summer tunes are flowing, your girls are gathered in the back garden (at a safe distance, of course!) and eeeeveryone has a drink in hand… but what happens when you want to try something a little different?

After all, there’s only so many G&T’s a girl can have before she craves something a little sweeter, a little fruitier, a little bit more… summery.

Now, we all love a good cocktail, but there's just so many to choose from… how do you know which to go for?

Girls, we’ve got you.

We’ve put together a list of the best, most delicious summer cocktails that are guaranteed to have you livin’ la vida loca all summer long!

Psst… not a boozey kinda girl?! Never fear! Every single one of these recipes tastes just as good (maybe even better!) with the alcohol left in the bottle! Mocktails here we come!

COSMOPOLITAN

There’s no way we could even think of putting together a cocktail list without mentioning the classic Cosmopolitan.

The ultimate mix of sweet and sour, this cocktail of vodka, cranberry, orange liqueur and citrus is perfect for a night out
(or in) with the girls.

Ice
Orange zest or lime wedge for the garnish

WHAT TO DO:

1. Shake the ingredients with ice and strain into a cocktail glass
2. Place the orange zest or lime wedge on the rim of the glass

      SEX ON THE BEACH

Another classic! (And one of our faves!)

Covid may have changed our summer plans, but this peachy, citrusy cocktail will make you feel like you are on the beach, no matter where you are!

      WHAT YOU NEED:

      45ml vodka
      30ml peach schnapps
      60ml orange juice
      60ml cranberry juice
      Ice
      Orange wedge for the garnish

      Serves: 1

      WHAT TO DO:

      1. Fill a glass with ice and all vodka, peach schnapps, and orange juice. Pour cranberry juice over to finish
      2. Garnish with the orange wedge on the edge of the glass

          FROZEN PROSECCO

We allll love a glass of Prosecco… well, this Frozen Prosecco (a FroSecco, if you will) is a game. changer.

Okay, this one takes a bit of forward planning, but to serve it is basically zero effort and trust us… you’ll be wanting to keep some in the freezer all summer!

          WHAT YOU NEED:

          400g granulated sugar
          450ml water
          1 bottle Prosecco (or champagne)
Juice and zest of 1 lemon

          Serves: 10

          WHAT TO DO:

          1. Make the syrup - in a medium saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the water and sugar until the sugar is completely dissolved. Transfer to a large bowl and let it cool completely. (Tip: you can place the bowl over a large bowl filled with ice water to speed things up a little!)
          2. Stir the Prosecco, lemon juice & zest into a simple syrup, pour into a pan and pop in the freezer for 2 hours. Using a fork scrape up icy parts and return to the freezer. Repeat this every 30 minutes until the mixture is completely frozen
          3. Serve!
