The Best Christmas Songs to Keep You in the Spirit Whilst WFH

Dec 17, 2020 · 6 min read
Working from home is tough. We totally get it.

Usually at this time of year, we’re in the office, tea in hand, having a good old chit-chat with our pod mates and listening to Christmas music on the radio, maybe even decorating the office Christmas tree! (And let’s not forget about the endless amount of snacks, too!). There is honestly no better vibe than Christmas in the office but this year, things are a little different.

What are the best Christmas songs?

If you’re working from home like the rest of us, you probably need some modern Christmas songs to get you in the festive spirit!

It sucks, we know, but at least we can keep our pod-mates close through the power of Zoom (thank you, technology!) Turn that frown upside down with our list of the best Christmas songs to listen to while you’re sleighing away at your bedroom desk.

From the old classics to the newer, more up-beat stuff, if you’re looking for the best Christmas songs to listen to this year, these are sure to have you singing your heart out on all your Zoom calls!

1. Santa Tell Me - Ariana Grande

This definitely belongs on the best Christmas playlist of all time. Spice up your WFH routine with this festive classic from 2014, released by Miss Grande herself. It truly has all the festive cheer you can imagine.

2. All I want for Christmas is You - Mariah Carey

A classic and one we will never get tired of. Literally. If you haven’t got Mariah Carey blasting this Christmas, is it really Christmas? Don't be changing up traditions now, girls. You know this one is a must on your Christmas playlist.

3. Underneath the Tree - Kelly Clarkson

With powerful instrumentals and catchy one-liners, you’ll be Zooming and singing this classic hit by Kelly Clarkson throughout the whole of December.

4. Christmas Eve - Justin Bieber

Remember when Justin Bieber’s Christmas album came out and everyone quite literally freaked out? Well, we're still not over it. A bit of Biebs will perk up anyone’s mood this year.

5. Last Christmas - Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande’s modern twist on this iconic Christmas classic is enough to get anyone out of their desk chairs. Grab a hairbrush (your tv remote will work too!) and get your singing socks on.

6. My Gift is You - Gwen Stefani

Listen to this song once and it’ll be stuck in your head all year long, we promise you. This festive jingle is all about choosing love over gifts this Christmas and this year, we definitely need some of that Christmas love.

7. Puppies are Forever

We’re not swinging from chandeliers this year, but we’ll definitely be swinging from Zoom call to Zoom call. Make your Christmas extra special with a little bit of Sia.

8. 8 Days of Christmas - Destiny's Child

Blasting a bit of Destiny’s Child always gets the party started - it’s one of our top Christmas songs, after all. Your Female Family will love singing this one with you on your lunch break.

9. Snow in California - Ariana Grande

Another modern Christmas song, but also one of the best. We simply can’t get enough of a bit of Ari to lighten the mood this year.

10. Baby it's Cold Outside - Idina Menzel ft. Michael Bublé

We all know Idina Menzel from Frozen (don’t act like you’ve never watched it), so unleash that little bit of magic in you all over again this Christmas. This song is enough to get shivers down anyone’s spine.

11. Candy Cane Lane - Sia

Candy Cane Lane is another one of our Christmas faves from Sia’s 2017 album, ‘Every Day is Christmas’ and we’re totally here for it. We’ll definitely be adding this one to our Spotify playlist.

12. Make it to Christmas - Alessia Cara

If you haven’t heard of Alessia Cara, you’re definitely behind with the times (we hate to say it). Christmas is a magical time, but it can also be tough on relationships. In this song, Alessia Cara sings about hoping her longtime romance will make it through the holiday season. Tissues, anyone?

13. One More Sleep - Leona Lewis

We’ve all heard this one, girls, and let’s be honest, we love it more and more every time. Leona Lewis = pure Christmas vibes.

We simply can't get enough of this festive pop-classic.

14. Jingle Bells - Gwen Stefani

By the time December 25th rolls around, you’ll probably be sick of hearing ‘Jingle Bells’ but Gwen Stefani’s new twist on this Christmas fave is here and ready to be one of the best Christmas songs of all time. You’re welcome.

15. Christmas C'mon - Lindsey Stirling ft. Becky G

We can’t get enough of this hit by violinist, Lindsey Stirling. This song is just as catchy as we imagined it would be and yep, you guessed it...it's on repeat.

So, if you’re looking for some modern Christmas songs to add some ‘jingle’ to your WFH routine, we’ve got them
allll right here! We promise you, your Sonos speaker will thank you for it. We’ve literally just made you the best Christmas playlist of all time, girls. You’re totally welcome.
