World Cancer Day: Have You Checked Your Breasts?

Feb 04, 2021 · 3 min read

Today is World Cancer Day and as part of our initiative to educate our Female Family on knowing their best bits inside and out, we’re here with a gentle reminder to encourage you to check your boobs.

If you’re not a regular boob checker, that’s okay. We know getting clued up on how to check your breasts can be daunting and a little bit scary, which is why we’ve put together a quick guide on exactly how to check. Checking is easy, you can do it anywhere and most importantly, it can save your life.

What is World Cancer Day?

World Cancer Day is a global initiative led by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC). By raising awareness, funding, improving education and undertaking vital research, World Cancer Day helps to reimagine a world where millions of cancer deaths are prevented and access to life-saving cancer treatment is available to everyone. Now,
that’s definitely something we can get behind!

When is World Cancer Day?

World Cancer Day falls on 4th February every year. The UICC believes that through positive actions, they can reduce the number of premature deaths from cancer and noncommunicable diseases by one third by 2030. Sounds pretty incredible, right?

How can I get involved this World Cancer Day?

It’s simple - by checking your boobs of course!

Every October as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we launch our #FeelYourBreast campaign where we shout from the rooftops about the importance of checking your boobs. You can check them lying down, in the shower or even in the bath. It literally takes two minutes!

But this World Cancer Day, we’re pushing that message again. So, get your besties checking their breasties and tell your wider Female Family to get checking too!

World Cancer Day

Now more than ever, cancer treatment and life-changing research has seen a change in circumstance due to the current climate. If we can educate our Female Family and spread powerful, life-changing education and messaging that can save lives, we can
truly make a difference.
